Greetings from Star Air!
In line with the latest Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR) Sec 3 Series M Part III, issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the following provisions will be effective from 26 March 2026. We request that you take note of these guidelines while managing passenger bookings and post-sales requests.
Key Provisions Effective 26 March 2026
1. 48-Hour “Look-In” Option
· Applicable only for bookings made directly through the StarAir website.
· Within the 48-hour Look-In window:
o Cancellations are permitted without any airline fees.
o Amendments are allowed with the change fee waived; however, any fare difference, if applicable, will be chargeable to the passenger.
· For bookings made via travel portals, travel partners, or third-party platforms, the Look-In option is not available. Change and cancellation fees will apply irrespective of the time of booking.
2. Applicability Restrictions
The Look-In option will not apply if the flight departure is:
· Within 7 days from the booking date for domestic travel
· Within 15 days from the booking date for international travel
3. Minor Name Change Provision
· Allowed only for bookings made on the StarAir website.
· Not applicable for bookings made through travel partners or third-party platforms
While the above changes are newly applicable, we would also like to reiterate an existing compliance requirement as outlined below:
Compliance Reminder for Refunds Actioned by Travel Agents
· All eligible refunds must be processed and credited to the customer within 14 days of cancellation, strictly in accordance with DGCA guidelines.
· Non-compliance with the prescribed refund timelines or guidelines may result in strict action, including but not limited to escalation, suspension of privileges, or other corrective measures as deemed appropriate.
We request all travel partners to take note of the above updates and ensure that passengers are informed accurately at the time of booking and during post-sales interactions. These measures are aimed at strengthening transparency, regulatory compliance, and overall passenger experience.
